30NBA Finals!

Grammar? You think it’s an issue of grammar? I hate to break it to you, but if you can’t spell ‘dogs’, you’re illiterate.
Six Flags Magic Mountain has revamped their eXtreme rollercoaster X and have launched X2.
They upgraded the carts, added audio and visual effects and painted the track. I have only been on X once, so it’s about time I go to Magic Mountain. I have been planning a trip since Jan 07.
I have not been on Tatsu. OK, that’s it. I am going to Magic Mountain ASAFP!
It’s an older song I recently discovered. It’s got some pretty intense lyrics for such a simple song. There are 100s of covers on youtube…but this version is the best.

Rockin a faux-hawk while smokin a cig…he’s prob thinking about getting a sleeve.
MGMT: “Oracular Spectacular”
Last November, Rolling Stone pegged MGMT (aka Management) as one of the top 10 bands to watch in 2008. I say they are number 1. After listening to the entire album 3 times yesterday (early May), I am definitely down with MGMT.
A combination of Brooklyn indie rock blended with synthetic-pop is the best way to describe them. They tend to stray from their normal sound on “Pieces of What” which gives the song a classic rock feel.
Pieces of What
4 Must Listen Tracks:
MGMT are currently on tour and will be opening for Beck this summer.
I wan’t really feeling The Roots 10th album, Rising Down, all that much. It felt as if it was missing something. Then I discovered the 15th song on the album, “Birthday Girl.”
This is what is great about The Roots. They evolve with the times. While one good song does not an album make, I am keeping it in rotation…for now.

The guys from Death Cab For Cutie took over blogging duties today on one of my favorite blogs, Stereogum. Ben Gibbard’s (Death Cab, Postal Service) post was so entertaining, I have to share it with you:
“Regulate”
Warren G (Feat. Nate Dogg), 1994My girlfriend and I were running errands around Seattle a couple weeks ago when this came on the radio during KUBE 93’s “old school lunch hour” (it’s kinda weird to think of 1994 as being “old school” but I guess it was almost 15 years ago). It quickly became brutally apparent that “Regulate” has fallen into that unfortunate category of hip hop songs that have not aged well at all. Here are some conversation snippets from the three and half minutes that followed:
- “Who are these ‘Regulators’? This guy talking at the top makes them sound like some sort of organized vigilanty group. Kinda like a hip hop guardian angels or something.”
- “Warren G sounds pretty wimpy on this track. That’s saying something coming from me. If Nate Dogg didn’t show up, I fell pretty confident that even I could jack him.”
- “What the fuck does ‘the rhythm is the bass and the bass is the treble’ mean?!”
- “I think that if I just shot a bunch of guys the last thing on my mind would be chasing girls. I mean, that would kinda put a damper on the rest of the evening.”
- “Is it just me or can Nate Dogg not really sing? That ‘Eastside motel’ line sounded kinda rotten.”
- “Oh man, ‘Pump Up The Volume’ has aged better than this thing.”
The video really brings all of that home.
