I have made a decision to sign off from IM during the work day. I may login only if the situation requires I do so(i.e asking someone for programming assistance). I spend too much time on IM. Most of it is work related, but that doesn't mean it isn't distracting. The ping is rarely every regarding the task at hand. It's about a future task, a past one or something totally different. It breaks concentration. That's what email is for. I check it when I am able to read it. I respond when I am able to do so.
I am guilty of being an IM junkie. I know that. I will still login in the evening (work) hours, for now. I may need to go cold turkey. It might be the only way. Great success always follows personal sacrifice. I am willing to give up AIM and MSN. If you really need to talk to me, you know the email address.
Thanks Microsoft. You just shot yourself in both feet. This should be damn entertaining for the next year. While you rush to patch and update your browser, which I guess you feel will shortly be replaced by the explorer in Windows Vista, you just made FireFox the best browser in the market.
I recently updated my work computer to the officially released IE7. You went from the easy, built-in-explorer that ran fast and properly displayed poorly encoded websites, to a poor-man's version of open source Mozilla. We have FireFox and the and the bare-bones Opera. We don't need IE7. I can't believe it doesn't work with your own Active X scripting. Do you realize how much JavaScript you are making developers recode? I hope you come up with a run-as-IE6 plug-in real soon.
I hope you have big plans for the explorer in Vista. I hope the IE7 that comes shipped, rocks. I hope it makes FireFox rush to get 2.0 out of beta and ready to compete. Not being able to properly display CSS and that funky blurry image rendering makes me wonder what you guys are smoking over there. FireFox has anywhere from 11% - 20% of the market, depending who you ask. I expect that number to even out by the end of 2007.
By the way I have been using Fedora Core 5 at work and I love it.
"If you play the Microsoft CD backwards you will hear Satanic messages…but that's nothing. Play it forward and it installs Windows."
The first you are probably thinking when you read the title is "um…should you really be watching TV and drinking while working?" My honest answer, YES! And it doesn’t matter anyway, the work I am doing is on my site. And by the way, this site will be HUGE. This will no doubt be the biggest site I have worked on. Wally’s used to get about 20,000ish
Now this is just FUNNY. This is the Google AdSense taken directly from What Da Phuk at 3:30am, July 11, 2006.

I bet they aren’t happy. Especially if they are paying on cost-per-impression model.
I love that I can blog abt things on my own blog. It’s like perpetual homogeneous circuition.
With all of this hype surrounding The Da Vinci Code, I decided to come up with some cryptography myself. I will give you everything you need to decipher the code. It’s going to be damn tough. If you can bust Sudoku, this should be no problem.

I did some research and decided that Ubuntu would make a good choice for a Linux Server OS. Could I have been any more phuking wrong?!? The rumoured Goobuntu was my deciding factor. The rumor is that Google has plans to distribute a free OS based upon this Debian Kernel. I can see why. It’s
Apparently for the month of Feb 06 I am only blogging on the weekends. Actually, Sunday and Monday, but it’s really happening late Sunday Night. And right now it is 3 am and the phuking email for a client that is on a server I manage is PHUKED. I finally got the web access back up and it’s time to wipe out the passwords cause right now that aren’t even phuking set. :’(
Every time I hear that name I think poor Ruby, what a problem at such a young age. I guess I sorta need to stop thinking like the main character in an Irvine Welsh novel. I need to start thinking like a progressive programmer pushing into the next era of OOP. Phuk .Net. I will say it loud and say it proud. Hear that Sunil? I’ll say it again, PHUK .Net!!!
So far I can’t figure out the benefit, at all. I know it is supposed to be the next greatest thing to sliced bread, half off Mondays and $200 Craigslist hookers. But so far, don’t see it. I haven’t really had the opportunity to build anything in it. It’s far too complex for a blogging system, although a ton of them are already running on rails..
I guess I will just keep reading and wondering. When I have some time (ha) I will download some sample apps, dissect for intellect.
It’s time to move to PHP. I think it is the next logical step. As this site/blog tends to moonlight as my testing environment for technology, I think it’s time to rebuild .bizBlog. Classic ASP is truly on it’s way out. MS is pushing .Net. Classic ASP jobs are becoming harder to find. While there
