I will keep this short and quick. I won’t throw in any spoilers but I must say, it’s the same movie. They didn’t create anything new. They followed the formula of the first movie and thought it would work again. Kal Penn and John Cho phoned in their performances. At times they seemed really disinterested with the characters.
It doesn’t help that both actors are telling reporters that they do not smoke pot and Kal Penn is a vegetarian. Way to ruin the suspension of disbelief.
The first one is a timeless cult classic. This one had some funny moments.
Moments…
Harold and Kumar 2, Escape from Guantanamo Bay debuted at SXSW. Just one week after I was in Austin, Harold, Kumar and NPH hit up the college town for the South by South West Film and Music Festival.
While not being a box office hit, Harold and Ku became and instant DVD and cable classic – much like Old School. Everyone loves Roldie and that new guy on House. The new H&K hits theaters April 25th.
Hmmm….you’d think they would want to move that up a weekend. Just an idea.
Here’s a link to the trailer for Harold and Kumar 2.

The Big Lebowski is a terrible movie. I know this probably the most controversial thing I have said on this blog. But seriously, What Da Phuk is with this movie? Everyone seems to love it. I don't get it. I like the Coen brothers. I love the movie Fargo. But for some reason, on the IMDB message boards, people are bashing Fargo and LOVING The Dude.
I can't stand The Dude. I also can't stand John Goodman, in this movie. I have tried. I have given this movie enough chances. I didn't like Anchorman the first time I saw it. I liked the second time and loved it the 3(5893)rd time.
Since I am currently watching The Big Lebowski, I think it is perfectly fair for me to say I hate this phuking movie. I am turning it off. I'd much rather watch reruns of the Carson Daly Show.

Superman Returns
Superman Returns was just awful. It's many years later but Lois Lane is in her twenties? Even Spacey seemed too young to play Lex Luther. I haven't checked IMDB yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if Kal Penn's character is named Kumar the mute. He is FAR too recognizable from Harold & Kumar to have a silent role. I imagine there are hours of Shakespearean dialog on the cutting room floor. Perhaps his character only speaks in monologues from Macbeth?!? Bryan Singer felt the audiance wouldn't relate and cut ALL his speaking parts. Is that what happened?
The effects were boujie. Even the logo was altered to have a bubblegum feel. It's boujie. Last summer, one of the guys delivering my couch, commented on the commercial that was playing. He said, "ah man, that movie (Superman) was BOUJIE!" He couldn't have said it any better. I don't normally take cinematic advise from the doode delivering furniture, but maybe I should. I bet he liked Babel.
Babel
I went into this movie with a lot of expectations. When most of my friends hate a movie that is usually a great indication I will like it. I really liked Amores perros. I like that method of story telling. I found Babel to be everything Crash attempted to be. It is a very unique story. The authenticity of each culture is amazing. Iñárritu is able to capture Moroccan, American, Mexican and Japanese and tie it together, as loose as the tie may be. Without spoiling anything I must say my favorite interaction was between Anwar and Richard (Brad Pitt). As they are getting on the helicopter and Brad tried to give him money, his refusal showed the true compassion of humanity. He didn't go through that for a reward. He didn't want compensation. Helping another human being in his most vunerable time of need was a reward in itself. Those two Moroccan boys, who apparently have never acted before, were terrific actors. Well done.

I have never participated in a meme. Needless to say, I have seen something another blog and used it for inspiration to write something (better). I got tagged by David, so in true chain letter fashion, I must continue…or face a fate far worse than death.
Here are 5 things you didn't know about me.
- I have been arrested 4 times (all before I was 18).
- I worked at Starbucks for less than 2 weeks. I have also worked at Brentanos and Crown Books.
- My second favorite NBA player is LeBron James. He is followed by Tracy McGrady, Jordan Farmar and Allen Iverson.
- I believe the Lakers should KEEP Lamar Odom.
- I have a twin sister who has the same (high) count of Midi-chlorians.
There you have 5 things that you didn't know about me. Now for the fun part…passing it along. So here you go Abhilash, Andrew, Jon, Joel, and Gretchen. Keep it going.

I recently realized something. I love watching movies in the theater. Granted I no longer have the Plasma on the wall or the surround sound. I am sure once I get my 60inch DLP and 7.1 Surround, I will start renting DVDs again. However when I am home, I am generally in my office on my computer. I spend most of my TV watching on a 13 inch screen. It's about 6 inches from me (next to the monitor).
I realized that when I am at home, even on the Plasma, I seem to hate most movies. They don't hold my attention. With the computer, IM, poker and music…not to mention the ability to put on another movie or 200+ channels I easily get distracted and bored.
When I am at the theater, I watch the movie. I tend to actually enjoy it as it is the only thing available for entertainment. You can't even talk on the phone. The Red Rock movie theater makes it damn easy for me to see all the new movie without a crazy crowd.
Talladega Nights is still the best film I have seen all year. Jackass was good. I'll watch it again. I give it two thumbs up…I am just too tired to actually insert the icons and give a full review. It's Jackass, they do crazy shit and you laugh. Bam and Johnny and Steve-O are nuts.
Now I just need to decide what to see next.

You can’t fire Ari. He is a member of the family. You can’t fire family. You can be mad at them. You can try to stop talking to them, but you can’t fire them. Poor Ari. Well, he did just win an Emmy so I think he’ll be aight. I can’t believe Entourage is gone until sometime when it’s cold. It’s the best show on TV and during the summer it’s the only thing. I guess there is Inked, Miami Ink, and Laguna Beach. But those are fluff compared to Entourage.
Speaking of good television, I am watching some right now. I am watching Fade to Black. It’s Jay Z’s final concert at Madison Square Garden. Not only is

Disney’s swashbuckling sequel sailed past the previous all-time best debut, 2002’s "Spider-Man," which took in $114.8 million in its first weekend.
Don’t they mean ‘Pirates’ beat Aquaman which pulled in 116 its opening weekend?!?
