5 Years Old

Posted on April 4, 2010

I purchased the domain in December of 2004 because I was tired of emailing certain things to certain to people and other things to other people. I sit in front of the computer all day (and night) and I come across some great (and lame) shit and want to share it. I figured why not just post it in one place?!

I wanted the domain whatthefuck.com or wtf.com but they were unavailable. I decided on a more urban vernacular domizzle and whatdaphuk.com was born. I installed aspNuke and used a harsh blue background, while only posting a few made-up stories. I didn’t build any followers. It wasn’t until March that I completely rebranded the site as my own personal blog. A clean, two-column template, a custom built blogging CMS and the logo — the infamous W in a font named “Da Bomb” and boom…WhatDaPhuk.Com was reborn.

In July of 2007, a major overhaul once again took place. I no longer used the custom built blogging CMS built in ASP and MSSQL. I installed WordPress and once again changed the look of the site. The logo remained the same but the color scheme changed. Hello #91c1e5. When I imported the old posts into WordPress, something happened causing most of them to get cut off. If you look at the early stuff, you’ll see most of it isn’t actually there. I have it in an access db so one of these days I will fix it. That seems like a job for an eventual assistant to phuk up and have me correct. I used to really write some long winded posts. Twitter has taught me that I can say everything I need to say in 140 chrs or less.

Anyway, so here we are, 3 years later and I am still blogging on this site. I have been planning and *eventually* will add a user generated content portion to this site. There’s a lot of shiznits on the internets, I can’t be the only one to find and post it. I need your help. Don’t worry. I still intend to keep the blog portion of the site along with the addition of guest bloggers.

Let’s go big! What it do! Here’s to another 5 years!

Viva WDP!!!
