It’s almost Preakness time. I have a pretty good history with the Preakness. In 2006, I won $1995.59 and the IRS hasn’t let me forget about it. Last year, I also had the winning trifecta, but it only paid $104.60. A friend of mine managed to have $10 on the winning trifecta for this past Derby.
He won $11,687.

As of right now, 13 (out of 14) horses are ready to run this Sat. Calvin Borel once again has a shot of at Triple Crown history. Can he pull it off? Will I win money? Will a drunk elephant run on the field while Manny Pacquio sings the national anthem in hebrew? We’ll find out together, this Saturday.
If you are lucky enough to know my MSN Messenger email address, you would know that my tagline yesterday was Cleveland +245 Money Line. I knew that line seemed high. The two games the Cavs lost were by 3 points. Where did a 5.5 spread come from? Where did a money line of 2.45 to 1 come from? Who handicapped this game? It sure as hell wasn't me. I beat the line. I also thought the UNDER of 172 looked suspect (Sportsbook.com didn't think so). While these teams have been playing low-scoring games, all eyes were on them tonight. The West is set. It's time to settle the East. This is only the 3rd basketball bet I have made all season. It's the second time I won, Money Line.
Okay, okay…it’s not THAT bad but it is still pretty awful. I have been playing a lot of online poker and I wanted to check out an actual card club. I probably should have waited for the 2/4 table but I was impatient and jumped into the $100 no limit. I was out-matched by Saturday night regulars. I wasn’t used to that kind of game. There was no where near the amount of bluffing that goes on during an online midnight turbo. It will be along time until I go back to an actual card club — especially in LA, The next time I will play at an actual table will be in Vegas.
No bust Blackjack is an interesting game. If you "bust" you don’t lose if the dealer happens to "bust" higher. So a 22 doesn’t lose if the dealer pulls a 23. The whole banker thing is phuked too. A player at the table is given the option of being the bank. The bank only wins when the table loses. It’s like the don’t pass line. You are hated by the table and we all want you to lose. But back to the no bust thing, it really changes the way you think of a hand. Sometimes it’s worth it to hit a 12 or 13 against a 2 – 6 which normally I wouldn’t do. I know in Vegas they tell you to be cautious against a 2 (and hit it) but I normally wouldn’t hit it. In this CA style BJ, you gotta bend the rules, cause phuk, they are!!!
