Google has <a title="RIP" href="http://mashable.com/2010/02/20/google-gears-rip/" target="_blank">announced</a> they are phasing out Google Gears.</p>
<p>I saw a lot of potential with Gears. I really liked the implemented &#8220;Turbo&#8221; feature in WordPress&#8230;even though I never really used it. To borrow a line from Role Models &#8220;I liked the idea of it.&#8221;</p>
<p>Whatever&#8230;on to the next. I guess everything can&#8217;t be as awesome and widely used as Google Wave.</p>
