For Realz

  • Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke was the surprise DJ at the trendy Roosevelt Hotel’s Tropicana Bar in Hollywood, last Tuesday. It is rumored that he will do it again.
  • My piece of shit truck won’t start. This is the 5th time I have brought towed the truck to Chevy of SM.
  • The ride Xcelerator @ Knotts Berry Farm hurt 2 passengers when a cable broke. The ride is currently closed and under investigation.
  • The New Moon soundtrack is being considered “the best album” of 2009 #embracethesuck
  • Radiohead may not be recording an LP but Mr Yorke is busy making new music…when not DJing
  • Is it really that surprising the inventor of the phrase “Death Panels” worked with Big Tobacco in the 90s?

RIP Michael Jackson

RIP

It’s been a while since Michael was actually the King of Pop. We’ve seen Usher, Timerberlake, Chris Brown all take the reins as the “king.” But when I think back to the Michael Jackson I loved growing up, it was this guy, pictured above. I once had a teacher tell me Michael Jackson “invented Rap.” While she was wrong in her chronological history, she was right about one thing. Michael Jackson made it cool to be “Bad.”

I stopped defending him after the second allegations. I watched the Martin Bashir interview and saw how crazy and displaced he was. He was so lost. I can go on and on about the Michael of the past 20 years…but there is no need. That wasn’t the Michael that touched the world (no pun). Michael left this world with a collection of music that will forever be cherished.  I think it is important that we set aside the drugging and raping of sick children (I’m sure Roman Polanski would agree) and take a few minutes to listen to Michael’s music. It will make you feel a little better.

Wait! This ISN’T Mine!

ATT BillWhile the rest of the world is in an economic meltdown, I’m having the best financial month of my life. Not to stroke my own ego…but I made some serious duckets this month. I hate paying bills more than anything. It must run in the family. Even when we have plenty money, we refuse to pay bills. I sometimes ignore them as if they are a zit, hoping they’ll just go away on their own. So this month, I made it a priority to overcome my aversion and pay every single bill before the due date. By May 10th, all my utilities, draconian cellphone bill, rent, car, insurance and upcoming New York trip (air, 5 nights in a sick hotel and 2 belmont tix) are paid in full.

I was pretty surprised to check the mail tonight and see a bill from ATT. I guess I missed this one. I opened the envelope, proceeded to my desk, logged onto the website…and WAIT…ATT…I don’t have an ATT account. What da phuk is this?! This is for APT 108!

Jesus Christ…I need a vacation.
