22What Happens in Vegas Gets Blogged and Syndicated
What happens in Vegas has never stayed in Vegas. It gets blogged, the photos are posted on MySpace and Let’s Get Nuts. The stories become legendary and are constantly being told and remembered. “Like that time I drank 2 fifths and Flub rolled a 3 2 on the hop. Or 3 weeks before when I rolled 3 3 with money on the hard 6 and the table went nuts. Doode, we got kicked out of Tangerine!”
While the saying now applies to just about anywhere: Cabo, Hawaii, Amsterdam — it couldn’t be any further from the truth. These are the trips worth talking about, no matter what happens. The crazier the better. The truth is that saying only applies to places you don’t want people to know you have been. You want to tell everyone about your Euro Trip (even if it involves Vandersexxxx). I have never heard anyone say “What happens in Bakersfield…”
These are the cities where the drama is hush.
So if you are in Vegas, taking pictures, emailing them to your blog and automatically syndicating them to MySpace via RSS — you are NOT allowed to say What Happens in Vegas… or you will be sent to Tehachapi.
Update 10/29/2006 A Letter to the Editor
dear sir,
i realize that you’re article titled “what happens in vegas gets blogged…” is banking on the fact that most people in tehachpi either don’t own a computer or are not computer literate (or not literate period). however, there are those select few who are in fact able to read and may be offended by your choice of locals to refer to as punishment. please keep this incident in mind when considering any future reference to the great town of tehachpi and the people that live there.
“what happens in tehacahpi stays there…but only cuz no one can figure out wtf a blog is”
much luv
